Yes, I give stuff away. Here’s three stories and a novel.
To get a free tech book, sign up for my nonfiction list. For seven free short stories, including five that I normally charge for, sign up for my fiction mailing list.
I don’t give any tech books away without a mailing list subscription, but you can grab some free fiction with no strings attached. Each of these is standalone, but ties to a larger thing. There’s the beginning of the Montague Portal series, the first Prohibition Orcs tale, and the short story that started Beaks. Each of these was created on their own, and readers demanded more. So I wrote it. My hope is that you’ll taste these and come back for a full helping.
While these are available at most retailers, you can grab all my freebies direct from me at my ebookstore.
Amazon really dislikes free books. They leave them free for a while, start charging in some of their smaller stores, then let the prices creep up in bigger stores until I notice and yell at them. Arguing with them every three months is a waste of time, and I am on the edge of pulling these titles from Amazon. If they try to charge you for any of these, I’d strongly encourage you to go elsewhere. Like my bookstore.
Forever Falls
The first Montague Portal novel!
There’s no grounds for murder.
There’s no ground at all.
The people exploring and exploiting alien universes risk everything, including their lives. But Devin Gupper’s death makes no sense. And the more questions security officer Aidan Redding asks, the less rational it seems.
But in a bottomless universe full of impossibilities, one impossible murder begins everything…

Spilled Mirovar
The very first Prohibition Orcs tale.
The modern year of 1927, and orcs still have to fight elven asshole bullshit.
Prohibition left exceptions for the church of Men, the Elvish sacraments, even the Dwarfish rituals. But the elves in Congress insist that orcs have no sacraments.
Without the Orcish draught, without the rites, Uruk-Tai’s fine strong boys might grow tall. They might earn respect.
But they will never be Orcs.
And Uruk will not let that happen.

Wednesday’s Seagulls
From the collection Vicious Redemption.
A hundred-foot barren rock in the middle of the ocean.
A plane wreck.
One survivor.
One dead man.
But the dead man keeps moving.
Stop moving? He’ll eat you.
Sleep too long? He’ll eat you.
The only thing tougher than living with a zombie? Surviving without one.
